IMPORTANT DATES Veteran's Day November - GTR is OPEN Thanksgiving Break November - GTR is CLOSED Christmas Break December 24 - Tuesday January 1 GTR is CLOSED Spring Break March 11 - 15 GTR is CLOSED Memorial Day May 27th - GTR is CLOSED 4th of July GTR is CLOSED Remember: Tuition is based on an average of 4 lesson weeks each month. We are closed for all major holiday weeks. Students do NOT pay for holiday weeks, and these weeks are NOT included in your tuition.

Classic Rock Trivia Contest
Welcome to GTR first contest of the season! To be eligible to win use the form below and turn in your answers at the studio no later than August 2nd 2013. There’s only one way to play an instrument or sing well: PRACTICE! Sometimes we forget that making music is as much a physical activity as it is artistic, creative, and intellectual pastime. Practicing (the process of methodical repetition) helps create muscle memory, develops hand-eye coordination and improves reaction time; all skills that enhance the overall goal for performing a specific piece well.
It’s important and beneficial to make practicing and instrument a regular part of your daily routine. Students who make a point to practice specific skills at a set time each day will improve at a consistent and measurable pace.
Making practice a regular part of a student’s weekday routine is ideal. Students who devote 15 – 30 minutes of focused time to work on their lessons right after dinner, or school for example, will fall into the habit more easily, and after a while will start to look forward to practicing as a way to set and reach their own playing goals.
Our instructors work with and guide students to know what to work on each week and the most effective ways to approach their lesson assignments. We encourage parents to sit in on their child’s lessons every now and then and to discuss their child’s progress and concerns they may have; or better yet, to simply enjoy the rapport and work ethic that is being encouraged and developed during lessons with their instructor. Our goal over time, is to help each student become an independent music-maker who sets their own agenda in terms of what music they’d like to learn and work on.
