Student Spotlight
Julien (right) with instructor Ryan Gibler
This month we turn our Spotlight on Julien Reineke-Quinlan!
Q: How long have you been taking music lessons?
Julien: One and a half years
Q: What instrument(s) are you learning?
Julien: The electric bass and piano
Q: What inspired you to learn that instrument?
Julien: I started band in school and my favorite musician is Paul
McCartney and so I decided to play bass. I chose the piano
just for fun.
Q: Who are your favorite musical artists?
Julien: Paul McCartney
Q: What are some songs you've learned to play?
Julien: Back In The U.S.S.R, Come Together, Amazing Grace, Money, and the
Harry Potter theme.
Q: What are your short and long term goals with music?
Julien: My short term goal is to get into the best part of my band, and my long term goal is to be
able to play the bass and piano the best I can.
Q: What is your favorite part about taking music lessons?
Julien: It is the playing part. I love playing instruments.
Q: What is the coolest thing you've learned in your lessons in the last 3 months?
Julien: How to play “Money” (by Pink Floyd)
Q: What are some of your hobbies?
Julien: Reading, soccer, and baseball.
Q: What are some of your favorite foods?
Julien: Steak, mashed potatoes, and gravy
Q: What advice would you give to someone who wanted to start playing or learning an
instrument?
Julien: Don’t get short tempered when you can’t play a song right away. It takes some practice.
In other words, don’t give up!
GTR Music Studio thanks Julien, his family and their continued support of our music programs. Julien's younger brother Adrien recently joined our student roster and is now taking bass lessons with instructor Ryan Gibler!
